my favorite love story

If you know me, I would be the last person you would think that would be a sucker for a love story or a drama because that is true. I don't like to watch dramas, or chick flicks or anything Twilight-ish.

I have quite a lot of friends and cousins who are Hmong, who are all suckers to Korean dramas, or just dramas in general, love stories, drama anime, anime with some drama... Or if you can relate better: chick flicks, Disney princess, twilight-ish type of stories or movies, etc. (You get the point) And the viewers find themselves all falling in "love" or in a deep "crush" with the "princess" or the "prince" of the story.

**This is off tangent, but you have to agree with me that the best and only good chick flick ever made is "A Walk to Remember". Sorry, I just had to let that out.

Well, I have a confession to make. I am not afraid to confess to this because this love story is from the bible. It is from the book of Ruth. After reading it last night in the New Living Translation version and the Message, I got hooked. Not only did it paint a wonderful picture of the Gospel, but it was an amazing story.

I have to confess that if I were given the chance to marry any character in the bible, it'd be Ruth. Why? I am so in love. I just love her character. She is hard working, when she met the LORD and given the chance to go back home in Moab and leave her mother-in-law behind, she decided to pursue after the LORD and continue with her mother instead of going back to her Moab gods, like her sister, Orpah. She knew how to endure hardship and is a very devoted women. Great character for a women.

Boaz, who ends up marrying Ruth at the end, is quite the "prince". Man. He's quite the guy who lives to be the example of Christ in that story. The man of the story. He's got some great character in him too. There are a lot of good stuff to learn on what it means to be a man of God by following Boaz's example. He's quite something. He's so cool. I want to be like him, because he resembles so much of Jesus, (ultimately, we wanna be like Jesus). Boaz is so cool that I would want to name my future son Boaz (probably better as a middle name... ...probably).

I am not ashamed to say this. It is the bible. It isn't Twilight. haha.

I am so in love.
